Senior year of college flies by faster than you expect. One minute you’re moving into your dorm, and the next, you’re preparing to walk across the stage. While solo graduation portraits are a must, there’s something incredibly special about capturing this milestone together—with the people who shaped your college experience the most.
Recently, I had the chance to photograph a group of seniors from the DeSales University Women's Lacrosse, and it was the perfect reminder of just how meaningful group graduation sessions can be.
Celebrating More Than Just a Degree
Graduation isn’t just about earning your diploma—it’s about the relationships, the late nights, the wins, the losses, and everything in between.
For athletes especially, your teammates become your second family. You’ve spent countless hours at practice, traveled together, pushed each other, and grown side by side. A group grad session gives you the chance to celebrate that bond in a way that feels authentic and fun.
The Energy Is Unmatched
There’s a different kind of energy when you’re surrounded by your people.
Instead of feeling posed or stiff, group sessions bring out natural laughter, inside jokes, and genuine connection. During this session with the DeSales Women’s Lacrosse seniors, there were constant laughs, hype moments, and so many candid interactions that made the photos feel alive.
That kind of energy simply can’t be recreated in a solo session.
It Tells a Bigger Story
Your college story isn’t just yours—it’s shared.
Group graduation photos capture the full picture of your experience. Whether it’s wearing your jerseys, popping champagne, or just walking across campus together, these images reflect what your senior year really felt like.
Years from now, these will be the photos that bring you right back.
Perfect for Social Sharing & Announcements
Let’s be honest—these photos are also perfect for Instagram, graduation announcements, and keepsakes.
Group shots add variety to your gallery and make your posts stand out. Plus, there’s something special about celebrating your achievement alongside your best friends in a way that feels elevated and intentional.
Make It a Moment, Not Just a Photoshoot
One of my favorite things about group grad sessions is that they turn into an experience, not just a shoot.
For this DeSales Women’s Lacrosse session, it felt like a celebration from start to finish, everyone hyping each other up, and just soaking in those final moments of senior year together.
And that’s really what it’s all about.
Thinking About Booking a Group Grad Session?
